If I am honest, I haven't always understood this sentiment. That all changed when my daughter was born and I wished I had more photos in the "before" times. Then I wished I had hired someone to capture our family before she got her first teeth, before her baby face began to mature, and before the world turned upside down and we lost three years.
I wished, I wished, and I continue to wish.
Whether you find yourself in front of my lens or the lens of another, just find yourself there. Wishing on what should be is the only guaranteed path to wishing on what could have been. You look great. Your family is a family no matter how many humans or pets are a part of it. Now is good. Now is great.

Being a photographer for 15 years allows you to see a lot of things. Mostly, with an abundance of trust, it's watching families grow. Whether in number, or in love, photographing the chapters along the way is an immense honor.
Given attention to detail, and creative trust, truly magical sessions can happen. The aesthetic environment chosen and emotional environment created are done so with great intention, together. Sometimes, all the fuss is worth the effort, and other times home is all you could ever want for a backdrop. Either way, partnership is a key element when working with clients to build a session everyone looks forward to. "Perfection" is rarely the goal, mostly because life isn't perfect. Magic, however, is always where we set our sights because magic is in the in between. It lives in the moments we don't plan, but make room for. Those little glimpses into who your family truly is is why we are taking photos anyway, right?
